Even as a young woman, Lawson knew she wanted to have her own salon. After high school, she completed the cosmetology program at the Aveda Institute in New York City. Shortly after, she attended M.U.D., New York City's makeup designory program. To further hone her skills, Lawson headed to 5th Avenue and trained under famed colorist Rita Hazan.

In 2017, with her skills sharpened and a hunger for success this native daughter returned to North Carolina and opened Alice Lawson Salon and Spa on Wrightsville Beach. It was the perfect blend of "Big City Skills" and "Southern Hospitality."

By 2021, Lawson and her Glam Squad were bursting at the seams. They moved back to what had previously been her childhood home. Her great-grandparents had built this home in the 40's, and it was the perfect canvas for creating a hidden oasis. The salon is minutes from downtown and less than 10 miles from the beach. Clients can enjoy a pool view, lounge area, and fireplace. With luxurious treatments and a relaxing environment with friendly service and unparalleled talent, each client that enters Alice Lawson Salon will receive a premiere experience.
